If you’ve ever asked yourself, what are hybrid lashes extensions?, you're in the right place, but at TAD Beauty, we want to take it a step further. As a company that was created by lash artists, we know A LOT about individual lashes and salon lash extensions, but we’re here to break down hybrid lash clusters and show you why they’re changing the game in the DIY beauty world.

What Are Hybrid Lashes?

So what are hybrid lashes, and what do they look like? Whether you're new to the lash world or looking to switch up your look, hybrid lash clusters deliver the perfect balance of volume, texture, and natural beauty to your look. So let’s dive into everything you need to know about hybrid DIY lashes and break down what are hybrid lashes extensions.

A Blend of Classic and Volume Techniques

When you talk about individual lashes, also known as professional lash extensions, hybrid lashes are exactly what they sound like, a hybrid between two classic lashing techniques: classic lashes and volume lashes.

  • Classic lashes involve applying one individual lash extension per natural lash. It creates a clean, defined look.

  • Volume lashes involve applying multiple ultra-fine lash extensions (3 or more) in a fan shape to each natural lash, delivering a fuller and fluffier appearance.

Hybrid lashes combine the best of both worlds: applying 50% classic and 50% volume. The result? A stunning lash line that’s both natural and full. And when it comes to hybrid lash clusters, we achieve that same hybrid lash style with our 3D printed lash segments, but instead of going to the salon, they are applied at-home lash extensions.

Comparison With Other Lash Styles

Compared to volume lashes, hybrid lashes are lighter and more wearable for daily life. Hybrid DIY lashes are ideal if you want more fullness than classic lashes offer but don’t want to go full-glam. Think clean girl aesthetic meets soft glam.

When you choose hybrid lash clusters, you’re choosing a low-maintenance, customizable solution that fits your lifestyle. They're a key part of TAD’s 3D lashes for a reason: they give you natural enhanced beauty, without extra drama.

Who Are Hybrid Lashes Best For?

Hybrid lashes are the go-to for anyone who wants something that looks elevated but still natural. They’re especially ideal for:

  • The Clean Girl Aesthetic: Minimal makeup, dewy skin, effortless glow.
  • Mature Women: Hybrid lashes enhance without overwhelming more delicate features.
  • New Lash Lovers: Hybrid lash clusters are perfect for someone who is new to lashes and wants enhanced lashes, but nothing too dramatic.

How Long Do These Lash Extensions Last?

When it comes to how long do semi-permanent lashes last, it does not matter if you’re wearing cluster lashes vs individual lashes, the style of lash doesn’t determine how long they last, it’s all about application, aftercare, and the products you use.

Factors That Impact Longevity

  • Prep: Clean, oil-free natural lashes using a lash cleanser.
  • Application: Proper placement and using long-wear adhesive is key.
  • Aftercare: Avoid excessive moisture or rubbing, and wash your lashes daily.

Expected Lifespan of Hybrid Lashes

  • Hybrid Lash Extensions: Typically last 2 to 3 weeks with regular fills.
  • Hybrid Lash Clusters: Last 5 to 7 days with proper care and application.

Our DIY lash kits include everything you need to apply, maintain, and even remove your hybrid DIY lashes so they stay flawless.

What are the Other Benefits of Hybrid Lash Extensions?

Now that we’ve broken down what are hybrid lashes, let’s talk about why someone would want this look and style over another.

A Balanced, Beautiful Aesthetic

What are hybrid lashes extensions? Hybrid lash clusters are textured yet soft, voluminous yet natural. They offer a dimensional look that flatters every eye shape and makeup style. We find that they are a great first step into lash extensions and cluster lashes for newbies.

Adaptable to Natural Lash Type

Whether your natural lashes are sparse, straight, curled, or dense, hybrid clusters adapt beautifully. Their mix of fan and single fibers create balance where you need it, and a bit of extra glam in your everyday look.

No Daily Maintenance Required

Forget about curling your lashes and layering on mascara every morning. Hybrid lash clusters are ready when you are. As we love to say, wake up with makeup and take on the day.

Remember: clean lashes are healthy lashes! If you’re wondering can you get eyelash extensions wet, the answer is absolutely! Be sure to wash your lashes daily with a lash-safe cleanser like our Pure Lash Cleanser to make sure your lashes look beautiful daily.

Long Lasting Lashes

With our 3D lashes you are getting extended wear lashes that are going to stay on all week! But when they’re ready to come off, be sure you understand how to remove DIY lash extensions and use a safe remover to keep your natural lashes healthy!

How to Do Hybrid Lashes: Step-by-Step Guide

Now that you understand what are hybrid lashes, let’s talk about how to apply them and wear this look! Now this isn’t a professional lash artist lesson, we’re going to talk about how to apply hybrid lash clusters yourself using semi-permanent lash products.

Choosing the Right Hybrid Lashes

Start by selecting a lash map that fits your eye shape. Remember, TAD’s premapped lashes are a great look for everyone! When choosing a TAD lash style that will best match hybrid lash extensions, we recommend Bliss!

Prepare Your Natural Lashes

Always start with makeup free lashes. Cleanse your natural lashes using TAD’s Pure Cleanser, allow your natural lashes to dry, then use a TAD Prep Pad to remove oils and residue. This step is crucial for adhesion and wear time.

Map the Lash Line

Decide your style: cat eye, doll eye, or kitten eye. Then, lay out your lash clusters in order from inner to outer corner for easy access during application.

Application Process

How to Apply TAD DIY Lashes:

Step 1: Prime white natural lashes with TAD Prep Pad.

Step 2: Apply “For YOU” white TAD adhesive to the base of your natural lashes; please note – less is more!

Step 3: Remove TAD lash segments from the scaffolding. Apply “For TAD” black adhesive right above the base of TAD lash segments.

Step 4: Apply lash segments from under natural lashes, just beyond the waterline. For ultimate comfort and best retention, do not overlap the segments.

Step 5: Wait 3 minutes for the lashes to set. Gently squeeze to bond lashes together with TAD Precision Press.

Step 6: Allow to dry 1 to 2 minutes before applying a thin coat of TAD Pristine Seal under the natural lashes.

Final Touches

Use a crimper tool such as our Precision Press or your DIY lash tweezer to blend your natural lashes and clusters together. Then, apply a sealer to lock in the look.
